The Pencil Grip & Crossover GripThe Pencil Grip positions the fingers correctly on the pencil. Each of our packets of grips include illustrated instructions to help you encourage the use of the correct grip. Children like these colorful soft grips -- learning the correct grip can be fun!
The Crossover Grip helps the child who wraps their thumb over the pencil. This gripper is similar to the standard Pencil Grip, but has a shield over the thumb and index finger. The Jumbo Grip helps adults who need ergonomic support and cushioning for arthritic or fatigued hands. This gripper supports the second knuckle on the index finger. The Heavyweight Pen and Pencil are not for everyone -- these weighted pens and pencils are serious tools for those with hand health issues. The 4.2 ounce instrument seats in the hand, requiring less finger pressure. Balanced to reduce fatigue and permanently fitted with a Pencil Grip -- this is the ultimate ergonomic pen and pencil. ![]() |

The ergonomic Pencil Grip is designed for the right or left hand, and is soft and flexible so that the pencil hole can stretch to accommodate varying widths of pens, pencils, crayons or tools. We prefer using the soft-lead pencil with the Pencil Grip. Each of our packets of grips include illustrated instructions to help you encourage the use of the correct grip " . . . my children really got the hang of the pencil grips quickly. My daughter held the pencil like a club and this really helped!" The Pencil Grip has a large area at the top of the grip. Prior to the creation of the gripper, therapists commonly gave their students a pencil with a small gripper and a wadded paper towel above the gripper. The towel was added to support the index finger -- helpful for children who hyper-extend the finger at the first knuckle. The educational therapist who designed The Pencil Grip decided it was time to do away with the paper towel. |
